Alienware reveals Concept Nyx
The first Multi-room gaming server
The computer hardware company Alienware at CES 2022 showcased a new concept that they are developing called Concept Nyx.
Alienware has explained that Concept Nyx will allow gamers to load and play PC games on a variety of screens instantaneously through their Nyx software. The software will enable PC gamers to stream their games wirelessly to a variety of screens at home, ranging from PC monitors to TVs. The concept will allow users to tap a button in an app that will wirelessly swap the displays from one screen to another. It will also allow users to stream games via a split-view screen. Alienware is working to make streaming up to four games at once possible with Concept Nyx.
The concept will require a powerful machine that will be able to handle running multiple games at once as well as have the networking chops to handle distributing low-latency streams.
As of right now, there is no definitive date or information on whether Alienware will release its own hardware, how much it will cost, or whether the hardware will be a paid service. Despite the little information we know about the concept Nyx, Alienware is trying to make accessing and playing already owned PC games easier on a variety of screens.
