The wait is nearly over
Hey Waivly Crew! 🌊 It’s not long until Apple’s September event is taking place when we will get to see the iPhone 13. Mobileye is planning to launch a robotaxi service in Germany next year.
TikTok overtakes YouTube in average watch time in the UK and US
According to a report from analytics firm App Annie, the average time per user spent on TikTok in the US and UK is higher than on YouTube.
Big achievement for TikTok
In the US last August, TikTok overtook YouTube, and by June 2021, TikTok users watched over 24 hours per month, while YouTube users watched 22 hours and 40 minutes. The difference in the UK is even greater, with almost 26 hours of TikTok content being watched a month, compared to less than 16 on YouTube.
Only Android devices
Currently, YouTube has an estimated two billion monthly users, while TikTok has around 700 million. The statistics only include Android phones, so it may not be an accurate representation of iOS users.
TikTok hasn’t taken over yet
“YouTube still leads TikTok in overall time spent, including in the UK,” Jamie MacEwan of Enders Analysis said. “YouTube’s massive audience means it’s getting more demographics that are comparatively light internet users – it’s just reaching everyone who’s online.”
Intel's Mobileye will launch a robotaxi service in Germany
The Intel-owned company that specializes in chips used for vision based-autonomous vehicles, Mobileye, has recently announced that they will be launching a robotaxi service in Germany next year.
Resist the current trend
The decision to launch a robotaxi service comes after Mobileye decided to resist the current trend in AV development by becoming the supplier, fleet operator, and service provider of autonomous driving tech.
How will Mobileye's robotaxi service operate?
Mobileye's robotaxi service will be operating in partnership with the German rental car company Sixt as well as with an Israel-based start-up that specializes in mobility data, Moovit. Customers who want to utilize the robotaxi service can get a ride through Sixt's or Mobileye's app. According to The Verge, Mobileye's robotaxi service will not be a full-fledge service when it launches in 2022, but the service will begin its early rider testing in Munich. As of right now, the company will not shift.

Apple Watch 7
According to Bloomberg, the Apple Watch 7 is coming but will reportedly be scarce at launch due to the upgraded display causing production delays. The upcoming Apple Watch may look completely different from what we have seen in the past, with a flat-edged thinner design similar to the latest iPhone models.
Segway has introduced its first robot mower, the Navimow, a robot that uses GPS to stay precisely on your lawn while keeping it neatly trimmed.
Taking things to the next level
The Navimow is not the first robot mower, but unlike other robot mowers, you don't need a boundary wire to keep the robot from leaving your lawn. According to Segway, a GPS-based solution called Extra Fusion Locating System keeps the Navimow to precise positions and systematic mowing patterns while being within two centimetres accurate.
Chance to be the best
“The company sees robotic lawn mowers as an industry with great growth opportunities. Our self-developed automatic robotic lawn-mowing technologies give us a chance to be the world champion in the sector,” Gao Lufeng, chairman of Segway-Ninebot commented.
