Watch Blue Origin launch 4-person crew to space
The crew includes William Shatner onboard
Blue Origin is off for another space trip today. This time with a 4-person crew, one of whom is William Shatner, who will now be the oldest person to go into space, at the age of 90-years-old.
This NS-18 mission is set to take off from Launch Site One, which is the company’s launch facility near Van Horn in the western side of Texas. The crew is flying onboard the fancy New Shepard rocket.
The flight was originally intended to take off on October 12th, but was pushed back by Blue Origin’s Mission Operations by one day to today, October 13th, due to forecasted high winds taking place on Tuesday.
Here’s the crew onboard the flight today:
William Shatner, who is probably best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk on “Star Trek.”.
Audrey Powers, who serves as the company’s vice president of New Shepard Mission & Flight Operations.
Chris Boshuizen, who is the co-founder of Planet Labs and current partner at venture capital firm DCVC.
Glen de Vries, who is the co-founder of the clinical trial software company Medidata Solutions, and the vice chair of life sciences and healthcare at Dassault Systèmes.
