Yuga Labs teases Bored Ape Yacht Club metaverse
Over the weekend, Yuga Labs, creators of the Bored Apes Yacht Club (BAYC), teased the launch of its metaverse coming this April.

The teaser video didn’t reveal as much as some hoped, but we know anyone holding an NFT from the BAYC and MAYC collections, as well as CryptoPunks and Meebits, which Yuga Labs recently acquired the rights to, will be able to access the ‘Otherside.’

Blockchain game developer Animoca Brands partnered with BAYC back in December to develop the game, so it’s safe to say it will be high quality. Animoca Brands quoted the teaser with a link to somethingisbrewing.xyz, where anyone can register and get KYC-verified via Blockpass.

Notably, Animoca Brands subsidiary nWay revealed in a tweet that it plans to adopt ApeCoin “in a new play-to-earn game that’s currently being developed by nWay and Bored Ape Yacht Club.” We're unsure if this is related to Otherside or another game in the works.

ApeCoin, which was launched last Thursday by ApeCoin DAO, will serve as the native token within YugaLab’s virtual world. Any future projects in the BAYC ecosystem will also use ApeCoin.
Paypal expands service availability to Ukrainian users
Paypal recently announced that they are expanding the availability of their services to its Ukrainian users during Russia’s ongoing invasion.

The company has stated that they will be waiving fees for Ukrainian users to help with humanitarian efforts within the country.

The expansion will allow Ukrainians to send as well as receive peer-to-peer PayPal or Xoom payments. Ukrainian users will have the ability to transfer money out of their accounts onto both Visa cards and Mastercards. Ukrainian citizens who have fled the country will be able to access the PayPal features if they create a Ukrainian PayPal account, giving them the option to send and receive money in US dollars, Canadian dollars, British pounds, and Euros.

Prior to the changes, Paypal only allowed Ukrainian users to send cross-border money transfers instead of receiving them. The recent changes will be available for a limited time and is expected to stay in effect up until June 30, 2022, but with the situation still developing PayPal is reserving the right to make any further changes. PayPal will post notes on their website if or when they decide to make any changes.

Universal Music buys Bored Ape to manage its metaverse group
Universal Music Group has acquired another Bored Ape NFT to lead its upcoming metaverse music group

10:22PM has bought Bored Ape #5537 for 125 ETH (around $367K). Launched back in 2018, 10:22PM is UMG’s next-gen Web3 label, which plans to lead Web3’s future at the intersection of music, gaming, NFTs, blockchain, and the metaverse.

First announced in a press release, the Bored Ape named “Manager Noët All” will lead 10:22PM’s metaverse group called KINGSHIP, the first to only consist of NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club collection.

Kingship has revealed her story saying, ”Manager Noët All has always known she was destined for greatness. From the time she was a wee ape, she’s worn an aviator’s helmet to honor the legendary pilot, Amelia Earhart. And like her hero, Manager Noët All is blazing a trail as KINGSHIP’S new manager...”

Once launched, KINGSHIP members will transform into 3D characters and perform across video games, VR experiences, and virtual worlds. Not many other details have been revealed since, so make sure to join the KINGSHIP’s Discord server to keep up with updates and maybe even receive rewards.
