CD Projekt Red promises Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen update is 'on track’
Set to launch in 2022
Game developing studio behind Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red has recently assured its investors during their Q3 earnings that the delayed next-gen update of their game is on target to launch early 2022.
⠀
The next-gen update was originally supposed to be launched in late 2021 but was later pushed back to 2022 because CD Projekt Red wants to ensure that the launch won't be botched or rocky like the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, which was riddled with many game bugs. CDPR has been releasing many updates and hotfixes to fix game issues.
⠀
At the moment, CD Projekt Red has not revealed the specific date the updates will launch, but we can expect it to be released within the studio's first quarter. The Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen updates are not the only updates that were delayed by CD Projekt Red, but also the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. That is still on track to launch in the second quarter of 2022. Both next-gen updates of Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3 will be free for individuals who already own the games.
