Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3 next-gen upgrades delayed

Hopefully it's the last delay

The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 upgrades for CD Projekt RED’s, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Cyberpunk 2077 have been delayed once again.

Back in September, CD Project RED insisted it was on track to release the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by the end of the year, but to no surprise, both games have been further delayed.

"We have an important update regarding next generation updates of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for consoles and PC," CD Projekt wrote. "Based on recommendations supplied by teams supervising the development of both games, we decided to postpone their releases until 2022.”

It’s likely the Polish game studio wants to avoid making the same mistake they made releasing Cyberpunk 2077 before it was ready, leaving many fans disappointed with the large number of glitches the game initially had. Based on the company’s new timeline, Cyberpunk 2077 upgrade should get released in the first quarter of 2022, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s upgrade should be available sometime in the second quarter of 2022.
