Decentraland plot goes for $2.4M
Virtual real estate is hot
Decentraland hit a record sale recently, selling a plot of land for $2.4M. The plot bought is located in the 'Fashion Street' area of Decentraland, and is made up of 116 small parcels which measure 52.5 square feet each, totalling a 6,090 virtual square feet plot.
The Metaverse Group, which is a subsidiary of Tokens(dot)com, purchased the land, with the CEO stating it'll act as a 'complement' to the companies real estate investments. Decentraland, for those who haven't heard about it yet, is a metaverse world where users can do anything from meeting other people, to buying land (just like this record plot purchase), and to just walking around and having fun.
