Gen-Z focused eBay might soon add cryptocurrencies as means of payment, according to CEO Jamie Iannone.
⠀
When asked about the possibility of accepting cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum by The Street, Iannone said: "We're not accepting crypto currently," Iannone replied. But "on March 10, we're going to go deeper on all of these things, payments, advertising, our focus categories."
⠀
In May last year, eBay changed its policies to allow trusted sellers to list NFTs in categories like trading cards, music, entertainment, and art. As crypto is not currently accepted on the platform, buyers can pay with their credit card or PayPal account.
⠀
eBay aims to not get left behind in the future by always being "the place where people trade goods, whether they be physical or digital. So over time, you know, we want this to be the marketplace for sustainability."
