HTC has introduced a new phone with metaverse-focused features, after teasing it during MWC 2022 earlier this year.
In terms of core specs, the HTC Desire 22 Pro has a 6.6-inch FHD+ 120Hz display with a high 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 695 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and a 4,520mAh battery with 18W wired charging.
The metaverse-focused phone supports HTC's Viverse ecosystem and will allow users to visit metaverse experiences using their browser. The phone is also fully compatible with HTC's Vive Flow VR headset.
Shen Ye, Global Head of Product at HTC, believes the phone will open “new immersive experiences as the perfect partner for VIVE Flow—whether it’s meeting colleagues in VR, or enjoying your own private cinema anywhere you are.”
Aimed at attracting Web3 enthusiasts, the Desire 22 Pro comes preloaded with a digital wallet to manage crypto and NFTs, and comes with a free NFT. A Viverse app also lets users buy NFTs in a digital marketplace and create their own virtual spaces.
