Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Twitter account was hacked on Sunday, for the second time in the past year.
⠀
After gaining access to the account, which has over 73 million followers, the hacker quickly tweeted that India had adopted bitcoin as legal tender and that the government had bought 500 bitcoin and was “distributing them to all residents of the country", along with a scam link.
⠀
Not long after the tweet was deleted and it was confirmed that the account was compromised.

The tweet comes as the Indian government is planning to regulate cryptocurrencies and maybe even introduce a complete ban, making the fake announcement as unbelievable as it gets.
