Instagram rolls out new tools for creators

Easier than ever for creators

Instagram is currently testing new tools to make it easier for the platform's creators to earn money on its platform.

The Facebook-owned company is now testing affiliate shops, a feature which launched during the Creator Week event in June, that allows creators to discover products, promote them to their followers and earn commissions for sales driven by their posts.

For now, the feature will get rolled out to influencers already onboard with Instagram’s affiliate program to test it before making it more available. A “View Shop” button will appear on the creator’s page, where they can basically create their own shop of products that they promote.

It will also be easier for brands to connect with creators for sponsorships, with Instagram’s inbox features, which will give them the option to use data and unique filters to discover the perfect creators for their campaigns. Instagram DMs will also get a ‘Partnerships’ messaging folder, to ensure that creator’s don’t miss opportunities from brands.

“These brand-creator partnership tools are a big part of our ongoing commitment to help creators make a living on Instagram — whether they’re partnering with brands, earning money from advertising, getting support from their audience or earning bonuses directly from Instagram,” the company said in a blog post.
