Krafton partners with Solana to develop blockchain-based games
Krafton embraces Web3
Krafton, creators of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, has signed a cooperation agreement with Solana Labs to support blockchain-based games.
As part of the agreement, the two companies will collaborate in the marketing and development of Solana-based blockchain games and services, as well as explore blockchain-related investment opportunities
“Krafton will continuously see ways to work closely with blockchain companies like Solana Labs as we stride towards establishing our Web 3.0 ecosystem,” said Hyungchul Park, Lead of Web 3.0 Roundtable at KRAFTON, Inc. “As one of the best global high-performance blockchain with strength in high speed and low fees, Solana represents the best of the Web 3.0 ecosystem and its technologies. Through this collaboration, KRAFTON will acquire the insight needed to accelerate its investment in and output of blockchain-based experiences.”
Krafton is no stranger to Web3, as last month, the firm invested a combined $6.6 million in South Korean NFT marketplaces Seoul Auction Blue and XBYBLUE. Just days before, Krafton partnered with Naver Z to develop a new Web3 project aimed at building an ‘NFT metaverse platform’.
