The security software company McAfee has recently announced that an investor group has acquired their company for $14 billion.

⠀⠀

The acquisition would make the security software company no longer be a public stock but will become a private company due to the investor group buyout. In a recent blog post, Chief Executive Officer of TPG and Chair of the McAfee Board, Jon Winkelried has stated that the acquisition "signals continued growth and opportunity for McAfee.”

⠀⠀

Over the last four years, the company has expanded its product portfolio, enhanced its go-to-market strategy, and pursued strategic M&A, including the divestiture of its enterprise business.” With the acquisition deal, McAfee will be able to continue its transformation and growth as a cybersecurity company.

⠀⠀

McAfee will be selling to investor groups such as Advent International Corp., Permira Advisers, and Crosspoint Capital Partners. The deal between McAfee and the investor groups is expected to close in the first half of 2022.
