RTFKT, the Web3 arm of sportswear giant Nike, has acquired the dotswoosh.eth Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain for 19.72 ETH, approximately $38,000.

While it’s unclear what RTFKT and Nike will use the domain for, the 19.72 ETH amount may subtly refer to the year Carolyn Davidson‘s iconic Swoosh logo made its first public appearance on Nike shoes.

This isn’t the first ENS domain RTFKT has bought, as the company also owns artifacts.eth, rtfkt.eth, skinvial.eth, drmos.eth, mintvial.eth, dreamos.eth, spacedrip.eth, dripcoin.eth, and m2tekno.eth.

Since acquiring RTFKT last December, Nike has been making big moves in Web3 in partnership with the digital fashion company. Nike recently launched an NFT project called ‘RTFKT x Nike Dunk Genesis CryptoKicks,’ consisting of 20,000 virtual sneakers designed for wearing in the metaverse.
