Shiba Inu announces ‘SHIB: The Metaverse’

On Wednesday, the developers behind the popular meme coin, Shiba Inu, released details about its own metaverse project: ‘SHIB: The Metaverse.’

To compete with other virtual worlds like The Sandbox, Decentraland, and Bored Ape Yacht Club’s upcoming metaverse, Shiba Inu is building a massive virtual environment for its community to grow, share, and benefit together.

Similar to Bored Ape Yacht Club, Shiba Inu’s metaverse will include the entire Shiba ecosystem, with its $SHIB, $LEASH, $BONE tokens playing a role as phases roll out. However, ether (ETH) will be used as neutral currency for land sales to ensure there is no downside risk to Shiba native coins.

SHIB: The Metaverse will consist of 100,595 plots of land. Some will remain private to be used as common grounds for roads, corridors, avenues, and other essential buildings. The public land will be unlocked in phases. During the introductory phase, the team will unlock 36,431 plots of land, which will be divided into four tiers: “Silver Fur,” “Gold Tail,” “Platinum Paw,” and “Diamond Teeth.”

Each plot of land will belong to one of four different districts: Growth District, Defense District, Technology District, and the Currencies District, and be priced between 0.2 ETH to 1 ETH.

"We will be introducing the first special role that Shiba Inu $SHIB will play in the Metaverse," the announcement said. "By welcoming a mechanic to burn $SHIB independently while renaming your land plot, furthermore, this should start soon after land events and public sale have ended."

Kyrgyzstan may launch its own national cryptocurrency

On Wednesday, Kyrgyzstan Member of Parliament (MP) Karim Khanjeza called for the legalization of cryptocurrency in the country.

During a meeting of the Kyrgyzstan parliamentary committee on law and order, fighting crime, and combating corruption, Khanjeza advocated for developing a legal framework for the crypto market. He said, "nothing is growing as fast as cryptocurrency."

The MP went on to share that Kyrgyzstan is in the perfect position to launch its own national cryptocurrency, thanks to the rapid adoption of crypto and crypto mining in recent years. "You can introduce your own cryptocurrency and have the National Bank and financial police control it," Khanjeza added.

Khanjeza also advocated for building a crypto hub in the country led by highly qualified crypto specialists. Kyrgyzstan wouldn’t be the first country to attempt this, as the United Arab Emirates has recently partnered with Binance, Bybit, and many other crypto firms to become a global hub for the crypto market.

Opera to integrate 8 blockchains in Web3 push

Opera plans to integrate eight new blockchains as part of its initiative to introduce over 380 million mobile and desktop users worldwide to Web3.

According to Opera, Solana, Polygon, StarkEx, Ronin, Celo, Nervos, IXO and Bitcoin will soon be integrated into its recently launched crypto browser. These integrations will give Opera users easy access to millions of decentralized apps (dApps) and services built on each blockchain.

Opera’s integration of new blockchains, especially Layer 2s, is part of its initiative to bring users to Web3 in an environmentally-conscious and seamless way. The company’s Executive Vice President Mobile, Jorgen Arnesen, believes Opera has been successful so far:
