After recently acquiring Death Row Records, Hip Hop legend Snoop Dogg plans to transform it into an NFT label.

ㅤㅤ

In a Clubhouse room, he confirmed, “Death Row will be an NFT label. We will be putting our artists through the metaverse and through a whole other chain of music. Just like how we broke the industry when we was the first independent to be major…I want to be the first major in the metaverse so Death Row will be an NFT.”

ㅤㅤ

Snoop Dogg acquired Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group on February 9th for an undisclosed amount, according to Business Wire. Death Row was launched in 1991 by co-founders Suge Knight, Dr. Dre, Dick Griffey, and the D.O.C., and later signed Snoop Dogg in 1992.

ㅤㅤ

This news comes after Snoop debuted his latest album, "BODR” (Bacc on Death Row) on February 11th, which will soon be available on the blockchain in partnership with gaming platform Gala Games.

ㅤㅤ

When talking about his partnership with Gala Games on Clubhouse, Snoop shared his reason behind the move. “Blockchain tech has the power to change everything again and tip the table in favor of the artists and the fans, and we’re going to be right at the front of the pack with this Gala Music deal.”
