Microsoft has shared in a blog post that they have detected nation-state activity associated with Russian hackers behind the massive SolarWinds breach.

⠀

Researchers from the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) said today that since the SolarWinds breach, the hackers have continued to attack the global technology supply chain.

⠀

The group known as Nobelium has reportedly continued to use the same strategy it used in the successful SolarWinds attack, targeting resellers and service suppliers that provide cloud services and other tech.

⠀

MSTIC has kept a close eye on Nobelium’s latest campaign since May and believes over 140 companies have been targeted by the group, with at least 14 to have gotten compromised.

⠀

“Fortunately, we have discovered this campaign during its early stages, and we are sharing these developments to help cloud service resellers, technology providers, and their customers take timely steps to help ensure Nobelium is not more successful,” Microsoft vice president Tom Burt said.
