New York auction house Sotheby’s will auction 104 CryptoPunks on February 23rd. The NFTs total an estimated value of $20 to $30 million.
ㅤ
Because of the sale’s focus on CryptoPunks, Sotheby’s co-head of digital art, Michael Bouhanna, described it as a “first-of-its-kind” and “monumental.”
ㅤ
"CryptoPunks are the original PFP series that laid the groundwork for subsequent NFT projects and helped launch NFTs to the global stage as one of the most identifiable visual styles that has become synonymous with the digital art movement."

ㅤ
The anonymous collector "0x650d" originally acquired the large group of CryptoPunks that will soon get auctioned in a single-lot sale. During the auction, Sotheby’s will accept bitcoin and ether, along with fiat currencies.
ㅤ
At Sotheby’s last June, CryptoPunk #7523 was sold for $11.8M as part of its ‘Natively Digital NFT auction,’ setting a new record for the most expensive Punk sold from the collection.
