SweepTank Episode 13: BTFDRabbits, Fun Apes, and more
Which project took home a Governance Proposal?
Sweepers Club returned to Twitter Spaces last night for episode 13 of SweepTank, an innovative NFT show where projects get the chance to showcase themselves to the community and get their floor swept!
How does SweepTank work?
SweepTank is the Web3 version of the hit television show Shark Tank. In this episode, three founders were given several minutes to pitch their NFT projects and answer tough questions from the hosts.
After hearing from each project, the audience had five minutes to vote for their favourite. Whichever project won the Twitter poll, took home a Sweepers Club Governance Proposal!
Over the following days, Sweeper NFT holders head over to the Sweepers Club website and vote on whether a portion of the Treasury funds should be used to sweep the floor of the project.
If the proposal passes, the project’s floor gets swept, and the NFTs are sent to the Sweepers Vault, where the community can use their $DUST tokens to win them via an auction or raffle.
Episode 13 did not disappoint
Last night, Sweepers Club hosted their 13th episode of SweepTank, where we heard from four projects building in the bear market: K9ICKS, BTFD Rabbits, Fun Apes, and Baby Alien Division. Let’s dive in!
K9ICKS
First up, listeners heard from K9ICKS, a play-to-earn, cross-community football management game that allows players to wager and compete across leagues in the metaverse.
In simple terms, there are five cards per team, each card featuring unique characteristics that change in-game probabilities and wagered outcomes. Players will use these cards to compete against each other to win.
K9ICKS will include three different game modes. The game will launch with “Head-to-Head,” a game mode where players choose their wager and compete against one opponent. The winner will receive the total amount in K9 tokens or Ether (ETH).
Further down the road, K9ICKS will partner with NFT projects to launch community leagues. Players will be able to join teams by paying a league entry fee and holding one of the partner projects’ NFTs to join their Club.
Players within community leagues will compete to bring their team to the #1 spot on the leaderboard, winning the competition! The winning team will win a jackpot, with a portion of the winnings going to support that team’s project!
K9ICKS plans to onboard Web2 users by inviting outside partners from the Football world, such as players or clubs, to sponsor their own leagues. Players in these leagues will compete individually to reach the top of the leaderboard, and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 players.
The full game is slated to launch on the BNB Chain in Q3 2023. Because their mint is not live, K9ICKS instead gave away 20 whitelist spots to the Sweepers Club community!
BTFDRabbits
Next up, ImDiDi hopped up to the Space to talk about BTFDRabbits, a collection of 10,000 rabbits on the Ethereum blockchain.
In the coming weeks, BTFDRabbits will roll out utility passes. The community will need to get their hands on two “Hero Rabbits” to send to the Rabbit Graveyard, where they can be mutated with their serum to claim a pass.
Over time, the passes will reach 3,333, and the BTFDRabbits collection will shrink down to the same number. This is because the team plans to release 3,333 Rabbits on the Cronos chain that will offer the same utility, but with unique traits.
BTFDRabbits team consists of 8 people: Project owner, project idea owner, blockchain expert, designer, editor, social media expert, and community manager. All of them are experts that came from the community.
Within the next month, BTFDRabbits will acquire LAND in The Sandbox and give 66 members of the community the chance to purchase customizable rabbit holes.
Holders of BTFD Rabbits receive full IP rights. In the project’s Discord server, they can download a 4K image of their NFT within seconds. One community member is even using their NFTs to launch a wine brand!
Notably, BTFDRabbits is already marketing in the real world. The project has sponsored two break-dancers that will be competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!
This is only the beginning for BTFDRabbits. To learn more about the project, head over to BTFDRabbits’ Twitter or join their Discord server to connect with the community!
Fun Apes
Fun Apes is taking utility to the next level with their collection of 8,888 animated apes, inspired by candy and the desire for sweets.
Earlier this month, Fun Apes minted out in just 30 minutes. Since then, the project has done over 700 ETH in secondary volume. The best part is...Fun Apes achieved this before even releasing the proposed utility!
Each Fun Ape is unique and randomly generated from over 150 possible traits, including fun colours, accessories, eyes, and more. All Apes are absolutely delicious, and some are rarer than others. There are also 7 legendary 1 of 1s, which are extremely rare.
Fun Apes was founded by Jahn, an NFT enthusiast who has been in the space for over a year and a half. He has a degree in marketing & psychology and was previously a marketing manager for Apocalyptic Apes.
Web3 is all about providing value to holders. Fun Apes believes that in order to build a strong community, a project has to be a real contender. The NFT space has cycles of trends that quickly come and go. However, the one constant has always been Twitter. In fact, “Twitter accounts for more than 70% of traffic on OpenSea” — Nicholas Kitonyi.
This is why Fun Apes offers holders access to “THE LAB,” where they can take advantage of a gamified experience called “Tweet2Earn.”
In THE LAB, holders can access a number of daily challenges and claim rewards bi-weekly. Completing these challenges allows them to gain points by tweeting, creating fan art, and more. There are various ways to climb the leaderboard, including multipliers based on specific traits, quantity held, and more.
Fun Apes' goal with this system is for holders to earn from contributing to the growth of the project. Jahn is a Mutant Ape Yacht Club holder, and he plans to contribute to one of the most reputable brands in the space, while giving everyone the opportunity to join the eco-system without the high costs.
Holders that participate receive rewards in ApeCoin on a bi-weekly basis. By choosing ApeCoin, Fun Apes is destined to receive support from holders within the Yuga Labs ecosystem.
It’s safe to say Fun Apes’ will always build with the community, for the community, so if you want to join, make sure to check out their Discord server!
Baby Alien Division
Last but not least, listeners heard from Baby Alien Division (BAD), an NFT ecosystem that started in February 2022 with a collection on the Cronos chain.
After the project sold out, BAD donated 15,000 CRO to St. Jude’s Research Hospital. They also gave back to holders. So, for example, a collector purchased 3+ Baby Aliens at 333 CRO, they received the price of one back!
At the time, BAD brought on a developer, who is now also one of the founders, to design the first animated NFT on the Cronos chain. For every three Baby Aliens that a collector purchased, they got a free Animated Spaceship NFT.
BAD went on to complete its first roadmap and in the process, took over 5-6 rugged projects, which they later gave back to the community. Baby Aliens kept one and renamed it the “Bad Lizzys.” This project is currently minting on the Cronos chain.
BAD didn’t stop there and decided to give back even more to holders. To do this, they designed a collection of 500 founder passes that live on the Cronos chain.
10% of all revenue from projects in the Baby Alien Division ecosystem will get divided out and sent to founder pass holders. They will also receive one free NFT from all future BAD projects.
Further down the road, Baby Aliens took the leap and launched “BADDIES,” a 2D collection of 10,000 BAD Aliens on the Ethereum blockchain. In the first season of BADDIES, holders will be offered a minion to bring on an adventure…
This is only a small part of the BAD ecosystem. From staking to supporting communities in Kenya, the opportunities are truly endless for holders.
And the winner is…
After a two-hour show with over 900 listeners, the vote for the winner went live, and Fun Apes was quickly crowned winner of SweepTank episode 13!
It’s now up to broom holders to vote on whether Treasury funds should be used to sweep Fun Apes NFTs on OpenSea!
