Tesla starts deploying Starlink satellite internet dishes at Superchargers

Plans to improve connectivity

Tesla has started to deploy deploy Starlink antennas at Supercharger stations, suggesting that the company is attempting to improve the connectivity for its customers.

Sometimes charging your Tesla can a while. The automaker has been helping to end boredom while waiting with built-in apps for entertainment such as Tesla Theatre, which includes Netflix, YouTube, Twitch, Tesla Arcade, a library of video games, and other streaming apps.

However, only owners with premium connectivity, a $10 monthly subscription for data-heavy apps can use those features through Tesla’s LTE cellular connectivity. For Telsa owners that only want to use data-heavy apps while charging their cars, they will be able to instead connect to Starlink’s satellite internet at Superchargers.

Back in October, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed on Twitter that all of Tesla’s Superchargers will eventually have free WiFi, while replying to a tweet asking why all Superchargers don’t have WiFi.
