The Boring Company accept Dogecoin payments for Loop rides
Elon Musk's Dogecoin support continues
Elon Musk’s The Boring Company will accept the meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin for rides on Loop, its Las Vegas transit system.
Loop is an “all-electric, zero-emissions, high-speed underground public transportation system” that allows passengers in Tesla vehicles to travel at 35mph to various destinations with no intermediate stops.
The new payment option was announced on Friday after The Boring Company opened its first Loop station outside the Las Vegas Convention Center. With three stops currently, the company plans to expand to over 50 on the Vegas Strip, including shops, casinos, hotels, and the University of Nevada.
Rides are currently free on Loop, but in the future single rides will cost $1.50, and day passes will be available for $2.50. Riders will be able to scan a QR code at the new Resorts World station to purchase a ticket using Dogecoin or a traditional credit card.
