Twitter has revealed they are silently rolling out a new feature called "unmentioning". The feature will allow its users to remove themselves from conversations that include their Twitter handle.
The feature was first introduced to a select group of users back in April, as reported by The Verge. The feature is now available to all Twitter users. While utilizing the feature, users will be untagged from conversations using their username, stop notifications for any Twitter thread, as well as prevent any Twitter users within the thread to tag the user again.
Users can access the new feature by simply clicking on the three-dot icon on a tweet that they are mentioned in, and a small menu will pop up. The menu will showcase different options, the user will have to choose “Leave the Conversation” to utilize the new “unmentioning” feature.
