Uber partners with Hertz to rent up to 50,00 Tesla’s to drivers

Available for drivers with a 4.7 rating

Uber is planning to roll out up to 50,000 Tesla vehicles as part of its push for an all-electric fleet.

According to an announcement from Hertz, Teslas will be available for Uber drivers to rent in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and Washington, DC, from November 1st, before eventually being available nationwide.

Uber drivers will be able to rent a Tesla Model 3 through Hertz at a rate of $334 a week, including maintenance and insurance, and as time goes on, the weekly rate will fall to $299 or lower.

The news comes only a few days after Hertz announced on Monday that it had ordered 100,000 Tesla vehicles, the largest single order the company has ever received, which caused Tesla’s stock price to skyrocket.
