Ubisoft Quartz NFT launch unsuccessful
Only 15 NFTs have been sold
Earlier this month Ubisoft launched its blockchain-based NFTs for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and so far it looks like the launch has been unsuccessful.
At the start of December, Ubisoft took its first step into the world of blockchain technology and NFTs. With Ubisoft Quartz, players can collect limited-edition cosmetic items for Ubisoft games that can then be re-sold on third-party marketplaces for cryptocurrency.
Fast forward to today, both NFT collectors and gamers have lost all interest in the NFTs. On Twitter Apex Legends Senior Character Artist Liz Edwards pointed out that the entire market for resold Ghost Recon Breakpoint NFTs appears to be just…$400 total.
There were 2256 NFTs created for Ubisoft Quartz, and only 15 have been resold, less than 1% of the total collection.
Recently Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot doubled down on his Web3 and metaverse plans, claiming that NFTs were only the beginning for Ubisoft. The possibilities for NFT’s in the gaming world are endless, so let’s hope the company does a better job in the future.
