Zoom has recently announced that they have acquired a Zoom-based broadcasting tool created by the startup Liminal.
⠀
The new tools created by Liminal are add-ons such as ZoomOSC and ZoomISO, which are built to create more professional-looking virtual events. The add-on tools will be integrated into the Zoom software when the company acquires Liminal.
⠀
ZoomOSC broadcast tool is designed to enhance professional meetings by utilizing its Open Sound Control protocol, which will enable its users to integrate third-party hardware, software, controls, and media server during a video conference. The ZoomISO tool will allow users to export each video conference participant's video feed as a separate output to professional production hardware.
⠀
Zoom has explained in a blog post that the acquired assets from Liminal will help Zoom bridge the gap between the traditional and emerging virtual event control tools that come in handy for broadcast studios, theatres, and other organizations that want to produce a professional-looking stream.
⠀
As of right now, there is no exact date when the new Zoom-based broadcast tools will be integrated into the video conferencing software.
